Position Overview
Delaware North Gaming is seeking a dedicated full-time Greyhound Care Assistant to support our mission at Wheeling Island Casino in Wheeling, West Virginia. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the health and happiness of retired greyhounds, facilitating their transition into loving homes.
Compensation
$13.00 per hour

Key Responsibilities
- Daily care and exercise of greyhounds
- Assist in evaluating adoption candidates
- Regular cleaning and sanitization of kennels and surrounding areas
- Monitor the health of each greyhound, including administering medications and grooming
- Operate company vehicles as needed
- Supervise playgroups to ensure the safety of all dogs
Required Qualifications
- No high school diploma or GED required
- Experience with large dogs in a kennel or similar environment
- Able to identify when a dog requires medical attention
- Strong organizational skills to manage schedules and priorities
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- Valid motor vehicle registration and ability to pass a drug screening
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift greyhounds and materials weighing up to 80 pounds
- Capability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors
Shift Information
8-hour shifts, including holidays.
