Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Part Time Firefighter - Emergency Response Specialist. This role will be responsible for providing emergency response services to the community, including firefighting, rescue operations, and hazardous material mitigation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency calls and provide firefighting and rescue services
  • Operate and maintain fire apparatus and equipment
  • Participate in training and drills to maintain and improve skills
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections of fire apparatus and equipment
  • Assist with fire prevention and education efforts
  • Collaborate with other emergency responders and city staff to ensure effective response to emergencies
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Preferred: Associate's degree in Fire Science or related field
  • Must not have any felony convictions
  • Must not have any Class A or B misdemeanor convictions
  • Must have a valid Texas Driver's License
  • Must pass a physical ability test and maintain a high level of physical fitness
Preferred Qualifications
  • Texas Commission on Fire Protection Basic Structural Firefighting Certification
  • Texas Department of State Health Services Emergency Medical Technician Certification
  • Certified Completion of NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800
Working Conditions

This position will require working in a fast-paced emergency response environment, with exposure to hazardous conditions, heat, smoke, and chemicals. The individual must be able to work independently and as part of a team, and must be able to communicate effectively with others.
