Job Title: Booking Specialist

Join the Manatee County Sheriff's Office team as a Booking Specialist and play a critical role in maintaining the integrity of our inmate records system.

Job Summary:

The Booking Specialist is responsible for accurately processing and maintaining inmate records, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and maintain accurate inmate records, including court documents, release records, and criminal and institutional history records.
  • Receive, review, and ensure accurate completion of paperwork associated with inmate bookings.
  • Access files and gather information from various agencies, receive and screen telephone calls, and respond to or direct questions from the public.
  • Receive incoming inmate funds or bail, update records, and issue receipts.
  • Review inmate charges and status relative to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Sex Offender Registry, and other laws and/or programs.
  • Complete applicable paperwork and provide appropriate notification to involved agencies or parties.
  • Facilitate the release process, update computer records, and confirm that inmate property and funds have been returned.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Passing score of 85% or higher on data entry exam.
  • Valid Florida driver's license.
