Key Responsibilities
  • Provides clinical expertise in wound and ostomy care for patients, considering age-specific, developmental, cultural, and spiritual needs.
  • Promotes the use of current knowledge, techniques, and research into the practice setting.
  • Serves as a facilitator and teacher to staff to enhance their knowledge and skills in caring for patients with wound and/or ostomy needs.
  • Continuously reviews the scientific evidence to support clinical practice and institutes practice changes when needed.
Requirements
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic computer skills, including Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and is self-directed.
  • Must meet or exceed core customer service responsibilities, standards, and behaviors as outlined in the HFHS' Customer Service Policy.
  • Must possess the following personal qualities: Be flexible and committed to the team concept, Demonstrate teamwork, initiative, and willingness to learn, Be open to new learning experiences, Accepts and respects diversity without judgment, Demonstrates customer service values.
Certifications/Licenses Required
  • Current Michigan License as a Registered Nurse.
  • Completion of Enterostomal Therapy program certification within specialty within 6 months of hire.
  • BCLS (CPR) within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Education
  • Masters Degree in Nursing preferred.
