Position Overview:

SSM Health Dean Medical Group is seeking a fellowship-trained and Board-Certified Electrophysiologist to join our esteemed team. Key details include:

  • Our electrophysiologists operate at SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital and the adjacent outpatient facility.
  • The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive electrophysiology skills, including the ability to conduct pacemaker and ICD placements, complex ablation procedures, and laser lead extractions.
  • Our dedicated Electrophysiology team includes advanced practitioners who collaborate with physicians in both outpatient and inpatient settings, managing independent clinics and supporting patient care.
  • Daytime EP call coverage is provided Monday through Friday, with occasional shared evening and weekend responsibilities that may require general cardiology expertise.
  • The clinic operates once weekly at the primary center, with outreach services occurring 1-2 days monthly.
  • The Electrophysiology department successfully completed over 800 procedures in the previous year, utilizing two specialized EP labs equipped with cutting-edge fluoroscopy and mapping technology.
  • This position offers a well-established practice with opportunities for expansion.

Position Responsibilities:

As an Electrophysiologist, you will:

  • Ensure adequate call coverage by coordinating with other medical staff for time off.
  • Uphold the standard of care for the patient population.
  • Manage a private practice and oversee clinical decision-making during service hours.
  • Advise on operational policies, including budgeting, managed care participation, and risk management.
  • Provide after-hours call coverage for practice patients, in addition to regular office appointments.
  • Engage in community service initiatives, including speaking engagements and clinical programs.
  • Oversee risk management and quality assurance activities within the practice.
  • Maintain a vigilant and safe working environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent verbal communication and interaction with patients and staff.
  • Regular standing and walking throughout the workday.
  • Occasional lifting of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent use of vision for patient assessments and data entry.
  • Regular auditory communication to receive and relay information.
  • Occasional driving and mobility tasks.
