As a Law Enforcement Officer with METRO, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our employees, customers, and properties. Key Responsibilities- Enforcement and Patrol: Enforce federal and state statutes, and county and municipal ordinances within the METRO service area, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly and safely to calls for service from the Communications Section, providing timely and effective assistance to those in need.
- Crime Prevention: Protect METRO employees, property, and patrons from criminal offenses, using proactive strategies to prevent and deter crime.
- Community Engagement: Develop good working relationships with municipal, county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, fostering a spirit of cooperation and collaboration.
- Administrative Duties: Use computers and appropriate software to enter daily activity data and prepare reports, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of all incidents and activities.
- Education: High school diploma, a GED, or a minimum of two years of active military service with a DD-214 Honorable Discharge.
- Experience: Must meet the training standards successfully in the first year of hire and be at least 21 years of age at hire.
- Certifications: Possess a valid TCOLE License and valid Texas Driver's License, meeting all criteria set forth in TCOLE rule 217.1 and Texas Occupational Code Section.
