Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Equipment Specialist to join our team at Aventiv Technologies, LLC. As a Field Service Technician II, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing telecommunication equipment, associated computers, networking, and electronic equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain all Securus equipment, including phones, kiosks, video terminals, WAPs, tablets, and other required equipment within correctional facilities.
  • Repair and maintain telecommunications hardware, associated LAN/WAN/networking hardware/software, various electronic equipment, and wiring per specifications, codes, standards, and operational procedures.
  • Provide installation assistance, training, or troubleshooting assistance to FSA and/or FST1.
  • Assist in educating and training Securus customers, providing information to technical support, and following direction given on Securus products and services.
  • Provide administrative services on an as-needed basis or when dedicated to a particular customer, including data entry, customer reporting, training, and providing CDR reports.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment and tools and manage and maintain assigned company inventories and assets.

Requirements:

  • 3 years of installation, repair, and maintenance of telecom and networking devices.
  • Experience working with Windows OS, VOIP, Adtran Fortinet, AOS, Cisco IOS, and wireless technology.
  • Telephony experience, including pulling cable, terminations, and troubleshooting wiring/T1/CO dial tone problems.
  • Experience and knowledge of network cabling configuration, troubleshooting, and installation standards.
  • Microsoft Certifications (A+, N+, MCSE, etc.)
  • Cisco Certifications (CCNA, etc.)
  • Electronics/Electrical Certification or Degree
  • Fiber termination experience

Work Environment:

This position requires standing, sitting, walking, speaking, listening, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and manipulating tools, typing, and using peripheral computer tools.
