About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Supervisor to join our team at Saint-Gobain. As a key member of our Supply Chain department, you will be responsible for overseeing the purchasing activity in our Wayne, NJ plant, ensuring that we maintain strong relationships with our vendors and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the procurement of equipment, capital expenditures, and other purchases required to support the plant.
  • Work cross-functionally with teams of individuals from other business functions to assist in the development and implementation of strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Supervise all buying functions performed by buyers and other employees assisting in the buying function.
  • Provide training and direction to all persons performing the buying function to meet company objectives and comply with all internal policies and other regulations.
  • Focus on analytics, building procurement strategies, and cost savings projects.
  • Ensure effective employee relations, to include all aspects of performance management, investigations, and problem resolution.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or Operations Management.
  • 2+ years of experience in supervising and developing team members.
  • 5+ years of experience in working in a Purchasing and/or Supply Chain role (preferably in a manufacturing environment).
  • Very strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills, and strong negotiation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (speaking and writing).
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and composure while effectively managing multiple and competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • APICS Certified (CPIM or CSCP).
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM).
