Otak is seeking a dedicated Project Accountant to join our team. This role is pivotal in collaborating with Project Managers to ensure optimal financial outcomes for each project while adhering to company standards and contractual commitments.

Key Responsibilities
As a Project Accountant, you will:

  • Oversee the complete process of invoice creation, including preparation, documentation, reporting, collections support, and resolution of billing discrepancies.
  • Prepare invoices and necessary supporting documents in line with established quality and productivity benchmarks, ensuring they meet contract specifications for Project Manager approval.
  • Track labor and expense allocations, along with job budgets and expenditures, ensuring all internal project financial data is accurate, timely, and compliant with GAAP and company policies.
  • Utilize analytical skills to address and resolve issues, escalating unresolved matters to the Project Accounting Manager or Project Managers as needed.
  • Provide training and mentorship to Project Managers and team members, ensuring adherence to Project Accounting practices and company guidelines.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of four years of relevant experience in Project Accounting, Cost Accounting, or a related field.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline is highly preferred.
  • A strong customer service orientation, demonstrating commitment and a positive attitude.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with accounting software, preferably Deltek Vantagepoint or similar ERP systems.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organizational capabilities.
  • The ability to work autonomously, take initiative, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of project structures within a client-consultant business environment is advantageous.
