Key Responsibilities:- Fill and refill prescriptions with precision and attention to detail
- Read labels for accuracy and correct as needed
- Label and package medications correctly
- Notate lot numbers and expiration dates for specialty drugs
- Sign out high-cost and controlled substance medications from logbooks
- Include ancillary materials with patient prescription orders
- Coordinate services with other UIHC Ambulatory Care Pharmacies
- Work closely with Specialty Pharmacy staff to fulfill patient orders
- Locate over-the-counter medications and ancillary products for patient orders
- Process patient orders through the pharmacy cash register system
- Prepare prescriptions for mailing and shipping
- Generate shipping labels and package refrigerated items correctly
- Assist with the receipt and stocking of daily drug orders
- Utilize and maintain the ScriptPro Robot
- Perform daily rounds to other Ambulatory Care Pharmacies and Pharmacy Storeroom
- Coordinate patient pickups and pick up drop ship items and supplies
- Perform inventory maintenance activities
- Generate and maintain records related to prescription dispensing
- Audit records associated with dispensing of narcotics and controlled substances
- Conduct assigned audits in patient care clinic areas
- Registered with the Pharmacy Board at the time of hire
- National certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in the natural sciences or completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program
- Ability to perform ratio/proportion equations
- Experience with inventory maintenance activities
- Experience working in a team environment
- Knowledge of windows-based computer programs
- Experience working in a detail-oriented work environment
