Position Overview:
Join our dedicated team at Mercy Health as a Polysomnography Specialist. We offer a competitive compensation package, including a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.
Work Schedule:
Full-time position requiring 72 hours per pay period, with shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM (3 shifts of 12 hours each).
Key Responsibilities:
As a Polysomnography Specialist, you will:
- Conduct comprehensive sleep studies and assessments under the guidance of the Medical Director.
- Provide education to patients regarding sleep disorders and treatment options.
- Prepare and calibrate necessary equipment to ensure optimal testing conditions.
- Apply electrodes and sensors in accordance with established protocols.
- Perform various sleep tests, including polysomnography and Home Sleep Apnea Testing (HSAT).
- Ensure adherence to AASM guidelines and center protocols for data collection and analysis.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, ensuring high standards of practice.
- Generate detailed reports based on sleep study findings.
- Engage in clerical duties to support department operations.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- An associate degree from an accredited program in polysomnography or equivalent experience.
- Certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Registered Sleep Technologist (RST).
- Current CPR or BLS certification.

This position operates under the general supervision of the Medical Director or designated supervisor, with opportunities for leadership and training of junior staff.
