Polysomnographic Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Polysomnographic Specialist to join our team at Mercy Health. As a key member of our sleep disorder team, you will be responsible for performing comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis, as well as providing training and leadership to junior personnel.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct patient education and comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis
- Prepare and calibrate equipment for testing
- Apply electrodes and sensors according to accepted published standards
- Perform routine positive airway pressure (PAP) mask fitting
- Follow AASM and Center procedural protocols for various sleep studies
- Implement appropriate interventions, including continuous and bi-level positive airway pressure, oxygen administration, etc.
- Oversee scoring of sleep studies and generate accurate reports
- Perform clerical duties, including telephone and scheduling activities
- Successful completion of an accredited educational program in polysomnography
- Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or equivalent
- Approved CPR or BLS certification
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
This position requires frequent standing, sitting, walking, and reaching, as well as occasional lifting up to 50 pounds. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt to changes in the work environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
