Position Overview:

The Supplier Quality Engineering Specialist serves as the primary liaison for both internal and external supplier quality initiatives in Philadelphia.

This role advocates for suppliers within the organization while ensuring that business interests are upheld during supplier interactions.

The Specialist is tasked with overseeing daily operations and resolving tactical supply chain quality issues, addressing concerns both internally and at the customer level.


Key Responsibilities:
This position encompasses various responsibilities and tasks, including:


1. Implementing Integrated Management System (IMS) policies, procedures, and standards for Supplier Management to foster a preventive, zero-defect quality culture, supplier excellence, and customer satisfaction.


2. Utilizing continuous improvement methodologies such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Six Sigma, and Lean Principles to enhance supplier performance.

3. Collaborating with supply chain teams to support Go-to-Green (G2G) initiatives.

4. Evaluating and auditing both new and existing supplier capabilities to ensure compliance with L3Harris and customer standards.

5. Working with supply chain to maintain the approved supplier roster.

6. Producing supplier quality reports and metrics to facilitate various internal improvement discussions.

7. Analyzing supplier performance data and implementing actions to enhance key process indicators.

8. Developing and upholding incoming inspection criteria, and managing the disposition of nonconforming materials related to incoming inspections and supplier-driven defects in manufacturing processes.

9. Leading root cause analysis for customer issues attributed to suppliers.

10. Initiating and managing supplier corrective action requests, providing necessary training to suppliers, and ensuring effective containment strategies are established and executed.

11. Reviewing the flow-down of Program Quality requirements to ensure inclusion in supplier documentation.

12. Assessing and approving first article inspection reports to confirm compliance with factory, customer, and program specifications.

13. Performing additional Quality Engineering tasks as assigned to support Maritime Power initiatives in Philadelphia.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is required. Alternatively, a Graduate Degree with at least 2 years of related experience, or an Associate's Degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience.

Experience in operations, supply chain, and/or quality management is essential.

Familiarity with AS9100/ISO9001 or IATF16949 quality systems and process auditing is required.

Demonstrated problem-solving skills are necessary.

Willingness to travel up to 40% is expected.

Applicants must be U.S. Citizens.

Preferred Skills:
Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) and AS9102 is advantageous.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred.

Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) is desirable.

Certification in Six Sigma and/or RedX is a plus.

Familiarity with APQP, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and PPAP is beneficial.

Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
