The Patient Service Representative (PSR) plays a vital role in ensuring a seamless patient experience at our clinic. As a key member of our front desk team, you will be responsible for managing patient flow, scheduling appointments, and handling phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors to the clinic, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor.
- Manage front desk responsibilities, including maintaining patient flow, scheduling appointments, and validating insurance eligibility.
- Enter demographic and insurance information into the clinic and hospital patient accounting systems, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Determine and collect time of service payments and/or past due balances at the time of appointment.
- Communicate with clinic providers, staff, and hospital departments as needed to facilitate patient care and patient flow.
- Maintain required department confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
- Six months of office or customer service experience required, preferably in a medical office setting.
- Computer experience preferred.
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact diplomatically, and maintain a professional demeanor with physicians, the public, and hospital staff at all times.
