Accounting Specialist

Location: Remote

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Accounting Specialist to become a vital part of our finance team. This position offers the chance to engage in a variety of financial and accounting tasks across multiple divisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the accounts receivable process, including reconciliation, invoice management, and statement distribution.
  • Assist with accounts payable duties, ensuring timely vendor payments, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Contribute to the monthly closing process by completing journal entries and maintaining general ledger activities.
  • Handle sales tax processing and reconciliation of credit card statements.
  • Monitor daily cash management activities.
  • Provide support for payroll processing as needed.
  • Participate in accounting enhancements and the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned by management.

This role is set in a dynamic environment that encourages diverse accounting responsibilities. Candidates should be adept at collaborating within cross-functional teams, demonstrating enthusiasm for their duties, and managing multiple projects effectively.

Qualifications:
1. A bachelor's degree is preferred; an associate's degree is mandatory.
2. 1-3 years of relevant accounting experience, depending on educational background.
3. Proficient understanding of debits and credits.
4. Experience with reconciliations and journal entries.
5. Familiarity with month-end and year-end closing processes.
6. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.

Preferred Skills:
1. Experience in manufacturing accounting functions.
2. Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting.
3. Familiarity with reporting tools such as Cognos or Power BI.
4. Experience in accounts receivable and/or accounts payable.
5. Cash management experience.
6. Understanding of sales tax regulations.
7. Experience in multicultural work environments.
