About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join our team at Kiewit Corporation. As a key member of our heavy civil infrastructure team, you will be responsible for supervising craft employees and ensuring projects are safely completed on time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a team of craft employees to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to determine project needs and develop plans to meet those needs.
  • Manage the performance of productivity, safety, quality, and schedule adherence.
  • Coordinate and interface effectively with superintendents and foremen to ensure smooth workflow and schedule adherence.
  • Resolve employee conflicts, grievances, and scheduling difficulties, informing project and corporate management as appropriate.
  • Assist in schedule planning, determining craft labor needs, material quantities, equipment requirements, etc.
  • Keep track of material stock and orders.
  • Ensure project rules, procedures, and programs are followed consistently, including those involving safety, attendance, and workplace behavior standards as reflected in Company's non-harassment and nondiscrimination policies.
Requirements
  • 8+ years' experience in the construction industry, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Must have experience and professional knowledge of heavy civil infrastructure, marine infrastructure is preferred.
  • Ideal candidate will have project experience with ports, docks, wharves, piers, bridges, or other waterfront structures.
  • Must be able to run multiple crews across various construction scopes.
  • Knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings, and other documents.
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently supervise and evaluate craft performance.
  • General computer skills required, Microsoft Office proficiency (Word and Excel).
  • Organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience with cranes is preferred.
  • Must have ability to manage and inspire others.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
