About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Commercial Construction Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and completion of construction projects in the commercial sector. This is an exciting opportunity to lead high-profile projects from start to finish, ensuring timely delivery, budget compliance, and exceptional quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Planning and Coordination
  1. Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets, clearly defining resources, timelines, and milestones.
  2. Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals involved in the project.
  3. Manage procurement for materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
  4. Identify project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  5. Oversee administrative tasks per project.
  6. Daily tasks such as updating the project platform, communicating with customers, and working with site supervisors.
Budget and Cost Management
  1. Create and manage project budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  2. Track project expenses, adjust for cost overruns, and ensure financial goals are met.
  3. Approve contractor payments, change orders, and monitor financial reports.
Team Management and Supervision
  1. Lead, motivate, and manage the construction team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  2. Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
  3. Resolve any issues that may arise during the construction phase.
  4. Ensure all team members adhere to safety regulations and quality standards.
Client and Stakeholder Communication
  1. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular project updates and addressing concerns.
  2. Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including property owners, designers, regulatory bodies, and subcontractors, to ensure alignment with project goals.
  3. Manage contract negotiations and ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
Quality Control and Compliance
  1. Ensure all work meets industry standards, safety regulations, and building codes.
  2. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor work quality and ensure adherence to project specifications.
  3. Implement quality assurance procedures and document inspections, reports, and approvals.
Risk Management and Problem Resolution
  1. Identify potential project risks, including delays, cost overruns, and quality issues, and develop strategies for mitigation.
  2. Resolve conflicts and handle unexpected challenges effectively to maintain project timelines.
Project Completion and Closeout
  1. Oversee the completion of the project, ensuring all tasks are finalized and that the project meets client specifications.
  2. Coordinate final inspections and approval from regulatory agencies.
  3. Manage project closeout, ensuring all necessary documentation (e.g., as-built drawings, warranties) is delivered to the client.
What We're Looking For
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in construction project management, preferably in commercial construction.
  • Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional), CCM (Certified Construction Manager), or similar certifications are a plus.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and contract management.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
    • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, MS Project).
    • Strong budgeting and financial management abilities.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
    • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to conduct site visits and work in construction environments, which may involve long hours or exposure to varying weather conditions.
