The University of Miami/UHealth presents an exciting opportunity for a Multi-Modality Technologist.

The Multi-Modality Technologist is tasked with executing intricate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures utilizing radiographic equipment to capture the highest quality diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure.

Independent judgment, creativity, and initiative are crucial, along with accountability for specific areas, procedures, and equipment.

The Multi-Modality Imaging Technologist delivers diagnostic imaging across various specialties in alignment with applicable scope and standards of practice, adhering to the organization's policies, values, and mission.

The technologist will dedicate a minimum of 25% of their time to practicing in a specialized discipline.

Specialized modalities include:
X-ray (RT)

Computed Tomography (CT)

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Nuclear Medicine (NM)

Interventional (VI)

Core Responsibilities:
Produces diagnostic imaging studies in at least two (2) specialized imaging modalities.

Demonstrates expertise in all areas of general diagnostic radiology and exhibits proficiency in all aspects of a specialized modality.


Maintains a comprehensive understanding of all protocols related to specified modalities, along with the preparation and upkeep of respective equipment, instrumentation, and departmental supplies essential for quality patient care.


Employs established policies and protocols to conduct various imaging procedures at a technical level without necessitating constant supervision of technical details.

Operates equipment to generate images of the body for diagnostic and research purposes.

Arranges the imaging area and utilizes information from the exam triage form, attached referring physician order, and patient's screening form.

Positions patients on the examination table and adjusts immobilization devices to secure optimal views of specific body areas.

Informs and educates patients about procedures to alleviate anxieties and ensure understanding and cooperation.

Ensures adherence to safety protocols by assessing the patient physically and reviewing relevant notes and forms in the patient's file.

Prepares equipment and supplies. Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.

Monitors safety standards and conducts necessary quality control procedures on equipment. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as required.

Conducts daily quality assurance assessments on equipment. Reports and documents any equipment issues to the appropriate senior staff.

Maintains confidentiality of all patient information in accordance with federal and state guidelines and regulations.

Complies with University and unit-level policies and procedures, safeguarding University assets.

Core Qualifications:

Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent and Graduate of a Radiologic Technology accredited program.

Certification and Licensing:
Must be ARRT registered in at least 2 modalities.

Must possess a valid State of Florida License.

CPR and BLS certification required.

Experience:
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.

Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines.

Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.

Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
