Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Data Navigator to join our team at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. As a key member of our research team, you will play a critical role in facilitating the flow of health data between various sources, ensuring that researchers have access to the information they need to advance their projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a gatekeeper for requests for health record data, reviewing incoming requests for appropriate approvals and determining the best sources of data to answer research questions.
  • Collaborate with researchers to formulate queries for submission to report writing resources and connect data returned from multiple sources.
  • Optimize information flow between data repositories, report writing, and statistical resources to support researchers in their projects.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Health, Science, or Information Systems.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a research setting, with experience in data retrieval, data management, and/or data analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of data management, data modeling, and clinical data standard terminology.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications

We also welcome applicants with a Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant field, as well as those with experience in data modeling, clinical common data models, and Epic Clinical Data Model Certification.
