The Access Services Representative 1 plays a critical role in ensuring seamless patient registration and financial clearance processes. This position requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in obtaining and verifying patient demographics and insurance information.
Key Responsibilities- Registration and Insurance Verification: Conduct thorough patient interviews to obtain demographic and financial data, and verify insurance benefits to ensure accurate registration and billing.
- Patient Flow and Process Improvement: Register patients at multiple locations, work multiple areas within the department, and identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance revenue cycle functions and the patient experience.
- Communication and Collaboration: Interact with various departments and areas to provide timely information related to patient delays, schedule changes, and other relevant issues.
- Financial Clearance and Collections: Verify patient eligibility for insurance coverage, calculate and collect patient liability, and negotiate payment arrangements as needed.
- Cashiering and Patient Assistance: Perform cashiering responsibilities, provide directions and medical mobility assistance to patients, and adhere to compliance requirements for order validations, cash policy, and patient safety.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Experience: Less than 1 Year of Experience
- Immediate eligibility for health and welfare benefits
- 401(k) savings plan with dollar-for-dollar match up to 5%
