Job Summary

As a Quality LPN Medical Records Specialist at MUSC, you will be responsible for providing quality patient care under the direction of a physician or licensed healthcare provider in a clinical practice. Your duties will include rooming patients, taking vitals and health history, documenting in an electronic medical record, giving injections and assisting with minor procedures.

Responsibilities
  1. Room patients and take vital signs and health history.
  2. Document patient information in an electronic medical record.
  3. Administer injections and assist with minor procedures under the direction of a physician or licensed healthcare provider.
  4. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver quality and safety of care for patients.
Requirements
  • Graduation from a recognized Licensed Practical Nursing program and licensure as an LPN within the state of South Carolina or a compact state.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
  • Ability to perform "pinching" operations and work rotating shifts.
