Required

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Facilities Operations Supervisor serves as a key liaison for students, educators, support personnel, colleagues, and parents. This role encompasses the daily management of the facility, including mechanical operations, sanitation, grounds maintenance, community education initiatives, special events, energy management, security, safety, and additional responsibilities as assigned.

SALARY:
Starting at $19.15/hr for new hires

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Customer Support
  • Assist in executing and monitoring cleaning programs developed through workflow analysis.
  • Support building administrators and other staff in organizing special events and completing tasks as assigned.
  • Collaborate with educators and support personnel to further the mission of the organization.
  • Participate in the implementation and follow-up of performance evaluations.
  • Oversee custodial staff and coordinate with district resources (carpenters, grounds personnel) for building and grounds maintenance.
Direct Service
  • Direct daily cleaning operations of custodial staff; assist educators and other personnel in moving furniture and delivering supplies.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the facility by vacuuming, mopping, waxing, and sweeping floors, sanitizing restrooms, washing furniture, and emptying waste receptacles.
  • Conduct maintenance repairs on plumbing, heating, and electrical systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on building equipment by checking and replacing fluids, belts, chemicals, lights, and filters.
  • Manage grounds maintenance by cutting, trimming, shoveling, and clearing snow from pathways.
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of cafeteria equipment.
  • Maintain building security protocols.
  • Handle biohazard clean-up in all areas of the facility.
  • Oversee fire protection systems and alarm protocols.
  • Manage timekeeping systems for clocks and bells.
Administrative Support
  • Maintain records regarding boilers and mechanical systems.
  • Monitor inventory and reorder supplies from approved vendors as necessary.
  • Coordinate contractor personnel for upkeep of building structure, electrical, mechanical, and other systems.
  • Adhere to federal, state, and organizational data privacy regulations regarding employee information and contractor pricing.
  • Be prepared to respond to calls 24/7 regarding equipment failures or security issues.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The methods of performing essential job duties require the following physical demands:
  • Continuous standing and walking.
  • Frequent stooping, squatting, kneeling, crawling, sitting, walking, standing, hearing, talking, and seeing.
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving of equipment, supplies, and furniture.
  • Occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent pushing and pulling.
  • Working with various chemicals and adhering to Material Safety Data Sheet protocols.
  • Utilizing personal protective equipment when dealing with biohazards.
  • Working outdoors in inclement weather conditions.

LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATION DEFINITIONS:
  • Special License: Employee must pass the State license examination.
  • Second Class: Employee must have a Special License and work under a First Class operator, or higher, for at least one year.
  • First Class: Employee must have a Second Class license, or higher, and work under a First Class operator for an additional two years.
  • Chief's License: Employee must have a First Class license, or higher, and work under a Chief operator for an additional two years.
  • Certified Pool Operator: Employee must complete 16 hours of training every five years; the cost of training and certification shall be covered by the organization.
