The RN will assist patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and elimination needs.
Collaboration across various disciplines is necessary to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and addressing spiritual or psychosocial support needs.
Assessing the educational needs of patients and their families is vital, providing tailored education based on age, culture, and specific circumstances.
Advocating for the physical and emotional health of patients is a fundamental duty.
Additional responsibilities may include performing duties of a Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or other nursing roles as needed.
Participation in staff meetings, training sessions, projects, and committees is expected.
Adherence to the policies and procedures of the Southern Tennessee Regional Health System is mandatory.
Working scheduled shifts, including potential overtime, is required.
Acceptance of on-call duties as assigned is necessary.
Maintaining a professional appearance in accordance with the established dress code is essential.
Minimum Qualifications
An Associate's degree in nursing is required, with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
Required CompetenciesCritical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to operate with minimal supervision are essential.
The ability to function effectively in a high-pressure environment and take appropriate actions is necessary.
CertificationsBasic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
LicensureA current and active Registered Nurse license for the State of Tennessee is mandatory.
