Material Handler Job Summary

The Material Handler is a critical role within our manufacturing and warehouse operations at Satellite Shelters, Inc. | Satellite Industries, Inc. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the facility, ensuring seamless production and shipping processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate lift trucks, performing daily inspections and reporting any issues to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Unload inbound freight and store materials in designated areas, maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Participate in the receiving process, verifying pack slips and entering data into our X3 system.
  • Supply and move materials required by manufacturing operations, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
  • Prepare LTL shipments, packaging materials to prevent damage and loss.
  • Assist in manual loading of knockdown trucks and unit shipments, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
  • Respond to demand lights to minimize equipment downtime and notify supervisors of quality issues or damaged products.
  • Perform manual material movements as needed to support various employees and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements:
  • Must pass and maintain a lift truck license.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds and visually identify colors.
  • Complete production paperwork legibly and use hand tools, such as box knives and banders.
  • Use data entry devices, including scanners and computers, as required.
Work Environment:

This role operates in a manufacturing and warehouse setting, exposing the Material Handler to varying temperatures and noise levels. Hearing protection is required in certain areas, and gloves are used to protect hands from sharp edges. The position requires occasional outdoor exposure to store and retrieve product.
