Job Summary
As a Sales Associate, you will play a crucial role in our retail operations. Reporting directly to the Store Director and Floor Managers, your primary focus will be on delivering exceptional customer service on the sales floor. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards in your sales area while engaging with customers and colleagues, embodying the Co-op's commitment to outstanding service.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Deliver exemplary customer service to both internal and external patrons.
- Efficiently stock the sales floor with merchandise in accordance with established visual merchandising standards.
- Maintain the selling area throughout your shift and assist in various store functions as needed.
- Safeguard company assets by adhering to inventory control and loss prevention protocols.
- Act with integrity and uphold the core values of the Co-op.
- Operate the cash register and perform other operational tasks, including pricing and merchandising.
- Complete additional duties as assigned based on operational guidelines.
Preferred Scheduling
Our sales associates work flexible hours that align with store demand. We seek individuals who can start immediately and possess some daytime availability during the week. While there is an immediate need for support, this position may extend into future semesters.
Qualifications and Skills
Ideal candidates for the Sales Associate role will possess at least a High School Diploma or GED. Previous retail experience, including proficiency with Point of Sale systems and customer service, is preferred.
This part-time, nonexempt position requires adaptable hours to meet retail needs, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The Sales Associate primarily works indoors, spending most of the time on the sales floor. Physical demands include visual acuity, manual dexterity, and the ability to stand, walk, and engage with customers continuously.
