Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Teacher Assistant to support our bilingual students in a dynamic and inclusive classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the teacher in preparing instructional materials and maintaining a neat and orderly classroom.
  • Support the administration of objective testing instruments and work assignments.
  • Help maintain inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Assist with administrative records and prepare required reports.
  • Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher and work with individual students or small groups.
  • Help supervise students throughout the school day, including lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
  • Keep the teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
  • Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
  • Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
  • Assist in maintaining student records, attendance, and files.
Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Travel throughout the district is integral to this job.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or USA equivalency; Associate Degree or 48 College credit hours or pass an academic assessment; Valid Texas educational aide certificate.
  • Six months of knowledge and skills acquired through work experience or successful completion of a specific training program for teacher assistants is preferred.
  • Demonstrated general knowledge of child growth/development and behavior characteristics.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse ethnic groups.
