Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technology Support Specialist to join our team at Killeen Independent School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for campus technology resources, ensuring the optimal and efficient operation of these systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with campus and technology services team members to ensure the optimal operation of campus technology resources.
  • Maintain high availability of all systems and resources for students, teachers, and staff.
  • Provide training on applications and digital resources to campus faculty and staff.
  • Ensure all hardware, system and network software, and applications are installed correctly and maintained properly.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of classroom technology systems, lifecycle deployments, and change management processes.
  • Assist the campus and district in evaluating the implementation of technology at the campus and district levels.
  • Develop and model classroom projects that integrate technology into the four core curriculum subjects.
  • Provide hands-on technical assistance and troubleshooting to campus faculty and staff on all campus technology resources.
  • Maintain current knowledge of national/state educational technology standards.
  • Assist teachers and staff in the implementation and effective utilization of all classroom technology resources.
  • Provide professional development to campus staff on the use of resources, services, and applications.
  • Attend and provide training during the district's annual technology conference.
  • Collaborate closely with technology services support staff to assist in systems maintenance, upgrading, and planning.
  • Assist with and maintain compliance with software licensing requirements and district inventory processes.
  • Provide hands-on support to district lifecycle deployments.
  • Comply with repair and ticket tracking through district automated ticketing system.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues and coordinate with technology services support staff for corrective action.
  • Assist campus leadership and staff in the development of new and/or revised campus technology plans.
  • Attend scheduled meetings and work closely with the technology services team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and three years of technology-related work experience or three years teaching/training experience, or combination of the two required.
  • Familiarity with Schoology or other similar learning management systems and K-12 experience, preferred.
  • Familiarity with multiple OS and applications preferred.
Working Conditions

The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions, and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate/loud. Occasional district-wide travel to multiple campuses as assigned.
