Key Responsibilities- Activity Assessment and Planning: Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their needs, skills, interests, and limitations, and develop personalized activity plans to meet their goals.
- Activity Program Development: Plan, organize, and implement a variety of activities, including therapeutic leisure skills, leisure education, and leisure awareness programs, to promote patient engagement and progress.
- Activity Session Facilitation: Lead and facilitate activity sessions to improve patient mental and physical well-being, and provide instruction on activities and techniques tailored to individual patient needs.
- Treatment Plan Development: Collaborate with patients and healthcare teams to develop and implement treatment plans that incorporate activity interventions to meet patient goals.
- Staff Supervision and Training: Supervise and train activity staff in the implementation of activity therapy programs and services, ensuring high-quality care and adherence to best practices.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreational Therapy, or a related field is required; Master's degree is preferred.
- Experience: Two or more years of experience in recreation in a healthcare setting, with knowledge of patient populations served by the facility, is required.
- Certifications: CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification is required; first aid certification may be required based on state or facility regulations.
