Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain all tooling department equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Design and build high-quality molds, reviewing designs prior to cutting to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Repair and maintain molds, prioritizing the repair backlog to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Troubleshoot molding problems, identifying root causes and implementing solutions to prevent future issues.
  • Inspect machined inserts, prioritizing the insert cutting backlog to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Maintain tooling equipment, performing routine maintenance and repairs to ensure optimal performance.
  • Follow and enforce safety protocols, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Support production operations, providing technical expertise and guidance to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Train, counsel, and discipline employees as necessary, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience as a machinist, programmer, or shop supervisor, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Solidworks and Mastercam, with a minimum of 5 years of experience preferred.
  • Comparable combinations of training and experience may be considered.
  • Supervisory or managerial experience in a machine shop setting, with a strong ability to use independent judgment in determining methods and processes.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, work methods, and production flow, with the ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and documents.
