Job Overview:

The Senior IT Project Manager will play a key role in the Success Services organization, driving the IT department's project work through the application of project management best practices and tools. This leadership position will have a significant impact on the delivery of IT project work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reports to the Director of Information Security.
  • Manages projects through a matrix organization, with authority over resources assigned to their projects.
  • Develops project plans, working with sponsors and stakeholders to establish shared goals and objectives.
  • Executes all five project management processes as defined by PMI: initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing.
  • Coordinates meetings with project team members and stakeholders to ensure project progress.
  • Provides regular status reports to sponsors and team members, keeping everyone informed about project status, next tasks, and issues to be resolved.
  • Manages 8-10 high-visibility projects simultaneously.
  • Solves problems and removes barriers to project progress, ensuring timely completion.
  • Collaborates with IT department managers to secure project resources and priorities.
  • Negotiates project schedules with sponsors and team members, holding the project team accountable to those plans.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience managing technical and infrastructure projects, such as migrating help desk systems or coordinating technical projects related to acquisitions.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage complex details.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with confidence in developing project plans and leading teams to successful completion.
  • Advanced understanding of project management concepts, including the PM triangle, critical paths, and estimate to completion.
  • Experience with Jira Software, Microsoft Teams, or similar collaboration systems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft networks, data center operations, servers, VPN, and other relevant technologies.
  • High emotional intelligence (EQ) to effectively communicate with stakeholders and team members.
  • Pragmatic approach to project management, with a focus on high success and predictability.
  • Ability to hold team members accountable for project work and keep stakeholders informed.
  • 100% remote work arrangement, with a requirement to live in the US and be a US citizen.
  • College degree preferred, with PMP certification a plus.
  • Experience with security frameworks, especially ISO, and enterprise IT procurement a strong asset.
