Job Title: Adjunct Instructor Pool - Drone Training

Job Summary:

Piedmont Virginia Community College is seeking adjunct instructors to support a variety of workforce training and credentialing programs across the region. As an adjunct instructor, you will provide effective didactic and skills instruction to engage an adult learner audience; maintain a positive and safe learning environment; ensure adherence to policies and procedures; and serve as a role model and advocate for student success.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide instruction in Unmanned Aerial Systems
  • Maintain participation and performance records
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff on curriculum development, instructional design, and assessment
  • Provide timely and appropriate response to student, staff, and partner inquiries
  • Report incidents
  • Participate in professional development and partner onboarding requirements
  • Maintain professional competence, certifications, and licensure
  • Assist in student recruitment activities

Requirements:

  • Two years of occupational experience in Unmanned Aerial Systems
  • Combination of education and industry credentials to demonstrate content expertise
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Commitment to community college philosophy and student success

Preferred Qualifications:

  • FAA Remote Pilot Airman Certification qualified instructor
  • Experience teaching adult learners and/or in a community college
  • Experience using Canvas or similar learning management system
  • Experience teaching with simulators
  • Associates degree
  • Current CPR/First aid certification
  • Recent experience preparing adult students for success on credentialing exams

Work Environment:

This is an on-campus position (not remote).
