Job Summary

Global Medical Response Inc is seeking a highly skilled Firefighter EMT to join our team. As a Firefighter EMT, you will be responsible for performing fire prevention, fire suppression, hazardous material incident response, and emergency rescue and medical assistance duties to protect life and property.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide information to the public, install smoke detectors, conduct station tours, visit schools, and participate in public education standbys.
  • Fire Suppression: Respond to emergency fire alarms, assist in the suppression of structural, residential, commercial, industrial, chemical, petroleum, vehicle, aircraft, and Wildland fires.
  • Emergency Medical Services: Respond to emergency medical calls, evaluate situations, provide emergency and non-emergency medical procedures, and transfer patients to medical facilities.
  • Communications: Conduct all radio communications in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Maintenance: Conduct daily and weekly vehicle and equipment inspections, and ensure all vehicle and equipment discrepancies are documented and reported.
  • Training: Participate in all required training sessions, including live fire drills, performance evaluation drills, ongoing skills maintenance, and annual OSHA drills.
  • Compliance: Review paperwork for accuracy, implement corrective/preventive measures, and comply with all policies and procedures.
Qualifications
  • IL certified BOF
  • State issued Registered EMT-B
  • Current CPR/AED certification
  • Valid driver license with an acceptable driving record
  • Able to work any assigned shift, including nights, holidays, and weekends
  • Available to work overtime as assigned and as needed on an emergency basis
