About the Position

Ameren Services provides administrative support and services to Ameren Corporation and its operating companies, subsidiaries, and affiliates. Our team of nearly 1,400 employees serves the company with business planning, communications, diversity, financial support, human resources, information technology, legal counsel, and safety and supply services.

As a GIS Co-Op, you will work in a GIS environment, learning from engineers, designers, or mapping personnel as they help support GIS projects. Your key responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities
  • Reviewing GIS data for Quality Control and Quality Assurance purposes
  • Visiting sites in the field to collect data and verify Ameren records
  • Interacting with Ameren contractors to evaluate/confirm the validity of data provided to Ameren
  • Documenting work practices utilized to gather, evaluate, and record GIS data
  • Assisting with updates to Ameren data

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Qualifications
  • Current student status pursuing a degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field from an accredited college or university
  • A minimum of 2.5 GPA, with 3.0 GPA preferred
  • Solid part-time work history
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel
  • Data base skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Demonstrate creative problem-solving and proactive learning
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
