Job Title: Candidate Advocate

The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Candidate Advocate to support the growth of our certification program. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring candidates for CFP certification advance successfully through the certification process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide personalized advice and assistance to candidates, ensuring they understand exam registration, initial certification requirements, and next steps in the certification process.
  • Manage high-volume calls with existing or potential certificants, utilizing a variety of personal outreach approaches to facilitate candidate advancement through the certification process.
  • Deliver resources to candidates with real-life examples of how other candidates overcame obstacles to pass the CFP exam and achieve CFP certification.
  • Collect, record, and report on individual contact feedback to identify common obstacles and areas for improvement.
  • Attend mandatory training sessions to stay up-to-date on product or company policy changes.
  • Participate in special projects or support to various departments, as approved by supervisor.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 1 year's experience in customer service or a call center environment.
  • Outstanding customer service skills and behaviors, including active listening, rapport building skills, accuracy, and professionalism.
  • Self-directed and motivated to pursue goals with minimal management on a day-to-day basis.
  • Ability and interest to actively engage and interact with candidates via telephone and email on an ongoing basis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible to meet business needs.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite; database experience is a plus.

This position works on programs which are part of the 501(c)(6). The position is based in the Washington D.C. office and works a hybrid schedule which could be changed at any time. CFP Board believes that diversity of experience and perspective are strengths and seeks to continue to grow a highly committed, skilled, and collaborative staff.

CFP Board is an Equal Opportunity Employer. The applicable starting annual base salary is anticipated to be in the range of $42,500.00 to $50,000.00, plus incentive compensation for which employees are eligible based on completion of individual goals.
