Event Planning and Customer Service

At Michaels, we're looking for a skilled Event Planning and Customer Service Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our store team, you'll be responsible for planning and coordinating events, including kids' birthday parties and other craft classes or events. You'll engage with clients of all ages, from 4 to 94+, by creating an environment of fun and creativity. Your duties will include demonstrating and instructing party participants in the completion of craft projects, performing face painting and other activities, and facilitating and implementing party add-ons such as goody bags, balloons, etc. to company standards. You'll also communicate events with clients and store team members, complete administrative tasks such as answering emails, making phone calls, and completing paperwork as needed, and adjust plans and events based on client feedback and needs. Additionally, you'll ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events, uphold the company's cleanliness and safety standards, and set up, break down, and clean before and after each event. You'll also help customers shop, locate products, and provide them with solutions, provide fast and friendly check out experience, engage customers on benefits of Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments, and educate customer on Voice of Customer (VOC) survey. You'll participate in the truck un-load, stocking and planogram (POGs) processes, complete merchandise recovery and maintenance, perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned, and support shrink and safety programs. You'll adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Company programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements, execute Company policies and standards, interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner, remain positive and respectful, even in difficult situations, promote commitment to the organization's vision and values, project a positive image and serve as a role model for other Team Members. You'll also participate in daily store cleanliness activities, including sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining cleanliness of restrooms, and other duties as assigned. You'll have the opportunity to cross train in Custom Framing selling and production. • Retail and/or customer service experience required

Work Environment

• Public retail store setting
• All public areas are climate controlled
• Some stock rooms may not be climate controlled
• Some outdoor work if assigned to retrieve shopping carts or while unloading trucks
• Frame shop contains glass cutter and heat press
• Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings
