Heavy Equipment Technician

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at Interstate Companies Inc. in Lincoln, Nebraska. As a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment, including trucks, buses, construction machinery, and agricultural equipment.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent diagnostic skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair complex diesel engine conditions
- Communicate effectively with peers, foremen, and service teams
- Quality control work performed to ensure maximum customer satisfaction
- Meet requirements for certifications
- Operate equipment to diagnose problems and inspect equipment for defects
Requirements:
- Valid driver's license (bonus compensation for CDL holders)
- Good work ethic, positive attitude, and reliability
- Experience with diesel engine platforms such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, and Liebherr
- Other mechanical skills desired but not essential: hydraulics, brakes, and suspension, manual transmissions, drive train, and automatic transmissions
