Job Title: Cherokee Security Officer I

At Hy-Vee, we're committed to creating a workplace where our employees feel valued, respected, and empowered to succeed. As a Cherokee Security Officer I, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our supply chain facilities, employees, and guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage security operations posts at employee, executive, visitor, and receiving entrances.
  • Maintain safe and orderly ingress and egress of supply chain buildings, ensuring authorized access for employees and approved guests.
  • Monitor and respond to electronic security system activations, fire detection equipment, and emergency distress calls.
  • Conduct routine safety and security equipment inspections and certifications.
  • Monitor CCTV security camera systems to maintain awareness of internal and external property boundaries.
  • Lead response to security, medical, weather-related, and other critical incidents.
  • Meet and maintain emergency medical response protocols.
  • Prepare and submit detailed activity, incident, and situation reports.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Military, law enforcement, or security-related work experience preferred.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check annually.
  • Training and certification in CPR and AED use.
  • Ability to be trained in First Aid, O.C. Spray, Use of Force, and De-escalation.
  • Successful completion of the Field Training Program.
  • Valid driver's license with no restrictions.
