About the Opportunity

Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking a pool of qualified candidates for part-time adjunct teaching positions in the Department of Physical Therapy. As a leading urban, public research university, VCU offers a unique blend of academic rigor, research excellence, and community engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Teach in the entry-level doctor of physical therapy program, focusing on one or more of the four physical therapy practice patterns course sequence: cardiovascular and pulmonary, integumentary, musculoskeletal, and neuromuscular systems.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality instructional content, assessments, and evaluations that align with the program's curriculum and accreditation standards.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of curriculum revisions, ensuring alignment with industry trends and best practices.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with advances in physical therapy education and practice.
Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program.
  • Current Virginia Physical Therapy License.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment, or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
Preferred Qualifications
  • More than 3 years of clinical experience in the desired physical therapy practice area.
  • Teaching experience within a physical therapy program in the content area(s) of need.
  • Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
Compensation

The salary range for this position is $1,395+ per credit hour.
