Job Summary:

Reynolds Community College is seeking a qualified Opticianry Instructor to join our team. As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in a classroom environment to students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of opticianry principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities:

• Teach opticianry courses to students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences
• Develop and implement course materials and assessments
• Evaluate student progress and provide feedback
• Collaborate with other faculty members and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment

Requirements:

• Associate's degree in opticianry or related teaching field
• Certification from the American Board of Opticianry and National Contact Lens Examiners (ABO-NCLE) is required dependent upon content of assigned courses
• Minimum of 2 years occupational experience
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse and inclusive environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a related teaching field
• Classroom and online laboratory teaching experience
• Demonstrated teaching and hands-on competencies
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with multi-cultural populations that support diversity, cultural understanding and inclusion
• Demonstrated computer literacy with experience in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint applications
