Position Summary:
  • We are seeking a driven R&D Senior Robotics Engineer to contribute to our Endovascular Robotics division within Advanced Therapies. We are recognized as a global technology pioneer in robotic-assisted vascular interventions.
  • We are committed to revolutionizing neurovascular procedures through the integration of endovascular robotics, imaging guidance, and specialized devices, ultimately enhancing patient outcomes and improving access to care.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop complex electromechanical systems for next-generation robotic platforms.
  • Employ advanced analytical techniques, including mathematical modeling and simulations, to enhance the design, development, and optimization of cutting-edge mechanical systems.
  • Apply mechanical engineering principles to the design of capital equipment and mechanisms, utilizing static, dynamic, and kinematic analyses.
  • Create and refine mechanical sub-systems, including concept generation, CAD design, analysis, documentation, verification, and ensuring manufacturability and reliability for both existing and new products.
  • Conduct forward and inverse kinematics, finite element analysis of components and assemblies, and 3D tolerance analysis, utilizing tools such as Simulink, Simscape, or MATLAB.
  • Engage in hands-on engineering tests and characterizations.
  • Analyze test results using mechanical engineering principles and statistical methods.
  • Implement best practices in design methodologies, development processes, and tools.
  • Research and adopt new tools and techniques, providing training to colleagues as necessary.
  • Document processes, design descriptions, test protocols, and results comprehensively.
  • This role may be ideal for individuals who are eager to advance their careers and possess a strong foundation in analytical and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Candidates should have a solid background in mechanical engineering design principles and experience modeling systems through various phases of the product lifecycle.
  • Proficiency with current development tools, software, practices, and processes is essential.
Required Qualifications:
  • PhD in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, or a closely related field, preferably with a research background in medical devices.
  • Exceptional academic credentials with a proven track record of impactful research.
  • A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in product development, specifically in mechanical-machine design, with a strong preference for experience in medical robotics.
  • Proficient in programming and using analytical and simulation tools, including MATLAB, Simulink, Simscape, SolidWorks CAD modeling, SolidWorks SIM, SolidWorks Motion Analysis, CETOL, FEA analysis (e.g., ANSYS), and statistical analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with LabVIEW and experience with sensors and DAQ systems are advantageous.
  • A willingness to learn new tools and techniques and to mentor others is highly valued.
  • Experience with motion control and applied control theories is preferred.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills are essential.
