Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead our team at Carriage Inn Bryan. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall performance of the community, including budget and financial covenant compliance, resident and employee satisfaction, and community safety and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership
    • Ensure the well-being and health of residents in the community, working collaboratively with all disciplinary team members to coordinate resident care.
    • Model the organization's core values and promote a positive image for the community.
    • Address resident and family concerns, ensuring prompt resolutions and high family satisfaction.
    • Promote leadership development among community directors and identify potential team members with leadership potential.
    • Participate in the community's emergency response team, coordinating responses during declared emergencies and disasters.
  • Financial Management
    • Meet or exceed budget and financial covenants, working closely with the corporate support team to review and adjust financial targets.
    • Participate in the annual operating and capital expenditure budget preparation process.
    • Review monthly financial statements for accuracy and provide detail on any deviations from budget.
    • Monitor spend-down worksheets to ensure budget compliance.
    • Ensure timely and accurate resident billing and monitor resident receivables.
    • Review and approve or deny proposed sales concessions, ensuring compliance with budget and financial requirements.
    • Closely monitor labor metrics to ensure budget compliance.
  • Sales and Marketing
    • Develop, implement, and update marketing plans throughout the year.
    • Meet weekly with sales teams to review census, strategy, and upcoming events.
    • Conduct tours and meet with prospective residents and their families as needed.
    • Assist with the closing of sales processes and conduct lease signings.
  • Human Resources
    • Ensure the community is appropriately staffed at all times, with the right personnel in the right places.
    • Maintain continuing education requirements for all staff, as required by professional licensures and state regulations.
    • Responsible for hiring, training, and managing staff, ensuring processes are in place for onboarding all staff per company guidelines.
    • Perform annual and as-needed performance reviews for managers and ensure timely reviews for community team members.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Liaison for all state matters before, during, and after formal licensing inspections.
    • Develop, monitor, and participate in the Manager on Duty (MOD) rotation.
    • Responsible for the overall safety of residents, team members, and community, mitigating risks.
    • Conduct job responsibilities in accordance with the Company's Code of Business Conduct, appropriate professional standards, and applicable state/federal laws.
    • Maintain a professional appearance and good personal hygiene per company policies.
Requirements
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in healthcare, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • Preferred minimum three years' experience as an Executive Director in senior living.
  • Education and license in good standing by the state licensing authority upon hire or within the required regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Strong critical thinking skills.
  • Must have strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and hold others accountable.
  • Must possess excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be flexible with changing priorities and able to communicate in a diplomatic and professional manner.
  • Must be flexible in the hours, shifts, and days available to work, including nights, weekends, and extended presence under emergency situations.
  • Excellent hospitality skills.
