Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Patient Advocate to join our team at RevOne Companies. As a Patient Advocate, you will play a critical role in determining eligibility for individuals and families who need our help.

Key Responsibilities
  • Learn and apply application processes determined by state and federal programs
  • Develop expertise in organization and administrative work
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
  • Navigate through various systems, including hospital systems and state systems
  • Work independently and be multi-task oriented
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve common goals
  • Collect and review patient information to determine eligibility
  • Prepare and review documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Complete insurance applications after determining eligibility
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with staff and hospital clients
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times, adhering to HIPAA and Red Rule regulations
Requirements
  • Computer proficiency skills are required
  • Ability to learn multiple databases
  • Ability to multi-task, including speaking on the phone and typing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • Good mathematical reasoning and computational skills
  • Ability to work with others to complete tasks
  • Ability to perform job functions within structured time frames
Preferred Requirements
  • One year of experience as a Patient Advocate or an equivalency of training and experience combined
  • Considerable knowledge of Medicaid programs, specifically Illinois
  • Considerable knowledge of the Federal Marketplace - willingness to obtain Health Insurance License
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret rules, regulations, and procedures
  • Ability to communicate with clients, the public, and public officials to obtain data and explain rules and regulations
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and Red Rule regulations
Work Environment

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, located onsite at Union County Hospital.

Compensation

The salary for this position is $19.00 per hour, based on experience.
