Lead Trenchless Geologist / Geotechnical Specialist

Overview

Position Summary

The Lead Trenchless Geologist or Geotechnical Specialist will report to the Trenchless Services Engineering Lead and will be responsible for overseeing and managing geological and geotechnical projects related to trenchless technology applications. This role is crucial in ensuring the integration of subsurface investigations across various projects, aiming to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize geological expertise to inform engineering and design practices, including analyses of hydraulic fracturing and inadvertent returns.
  • Coordinate and implement geotechnical investigation programs to gather essential data for engineering decisions.
  • Interpret geological data to assess subsurface conditions and provide recommendations for addressing challenges throughout project lifecycles.
  • Manage data quality control, resource forecasting, cost estimation, and risk management for geological initiatives.
  • Conduct fieldwork, including site reconnaissance and oversight of geotechnical investigations and trenchless installations.
  • Generate comprehensive Geotechnical Data Reports and collaborate with laboratory programs for data analysis.
  • Support the Trenchless Services team in executing geotechnical analyses and creating geological cross-sections for project deliverables.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental consulting, with a focus on project management and client relations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with geotechnical software.
  • Strong leadership abilities and a collaborative mindset.

Preferred:

Experience with hazardous site assessments and fieldwork.
