Job Title: Trinity-ED Registration

Job Summary:
The ED Registration Specialist plays a vital role in the Emergency Department by ensuring the timely and accurate registration of patients. This role requires managing patient information, verifying insurance, and coordinating with clinical staff to support efficient care delivery. The individual will be responsible for handling patient inquiries and maintaining proper documentation to ensure a smooth patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Registration: Accurately register patients into the hospital's system, ensuring all required demographic, insurance, and medical information is collected and entered properly.
  • Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage, process authorizations, and ensure all necessary financial documents are completed before the patient is admitted.
  • Patient Interaction: Greet patients in a professional and compassionate manner, answer questions, and provide necessary instructions regarding their visit.
  • Coordination with ED Staff: Work closely with clinical staff to ensure patient flow is maintained and that all registration processes are completed in a timely manner.
  • Documentation: Maintain and update patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
  • Emergency Response Support: Assist during emergency situations by ensuring patient registration is swift and accurate, coordinating with medical personnel to support urgent care needs.
  • Problem-Solving: Address patient concerns or issues related to registration and insurance processing, escalating complex cases when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Previous experience in healthcare registration, patient access, or a related field is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using healthcare information systems and software for registration and insurance verification.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
  • Attention to Detail: Must have excellent attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of patient records and insurance information.
  • Availability: Ability to work overnight shifts from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
  • Customer Service Orientation: A patient-focused approach with a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certifications or training in medical office administration is a plus.
