Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commissioning Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end coordination of the Commissioning phase of the project, ensuring that all activities are completed in conformity with established cost, quality, schedules, and Sungrow KPIs.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate the BESS Commissioning Process
- Assist the Project Manager in preparing a Project Commissioning Plan and resources plan
- Create Commissioning Trackers and shared folders with site commissioning vendors
- Ensure that the Project Commissioning Plan covers all ancillary testing per the customer contract
- Provide remote technical support to the site commissioning team in resolving routine troubleshooting issues
- Ensure the on-site team has all the documentation required for successful commissioning
- Escalate higher-level technical issues to the CoE Team
- Ensure adherence to contractual commissioning milestones
- Train the site team in technical and safety practices
- Prepare and maintain commissioning records of site observations, testing processes, and checklists
- Receive daily reports from vendors and provide reports to stakeholders
- Enforce Sungrow and customer safety plans while on site
- Prepare the final commissioning report for the customer
- 5+ years of overall experience in an engineering discipline or equivalent education
- 3 years of experience in Energy Storage systems
- Demonstrated experience in the Sungrow portfolio and ability to offer technical expertise remotely
- Demonstrated knowledge in utility-scale electrical systems and C&I systems
- Customer service, problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- HSE experience and knowledge related to site construction and electrical safety
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Associates Degree in an Engineering or Computer Science Discipline from an accredited university or college or equivalent work history
- Reneable industry experience is required
- Power Electronics experience is required
- OSHA 10 certification within 12 months of date of hire
- NFPA 70e certification within 12 months of date of hire
- Motivated self-starter with technical and analytical problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent coordination experience
- Ability to make independent decisions
- Strong initiatives and excellent communication skills
- Detailed-oriented nature and strong initiative
- Excellent soft skills and ability to mitigate disagreements or conflicts with customers
- 25-50% travel
