About This Role

As a Data Science Engineer in Consumer Insight, you will be part of the data science function for Marcus cards business and the Marcus App, catering to end-to-end customer life cycles. This role entails leveraging predictive models and data science techniques to optimize decision-making and improve customer experience.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement data-driven initiatives to enhance customer experience and drive business growth
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop data-driven solutions
  • Research and experiment with natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning (ML) algorithms and techniques
  • Manage projects from end-to-end design, development, and implementation
  • Build and validate prototypes for NLP and ML problems
  • Develop effective, maintainable code in a timely fashion
  • Implement automated unit/integration testing systems to validate defect-free code
  • Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to established coding and architectural standards
  • Utilize version control to collaboratively develop software
Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms
  • Strong data analytical skills, problem-solving, and technical skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in developing NLP/ML systems using large data sets
  • Experience with ML techniques such as classification, clustering, recommendation, etc.
  • Proficient with SQL and experience with one or more DB query clients (e.g., Postgre, MySQL)
  • Solid experience in Python or Java
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment, communicate effectively, and influence others
  • Proactive, flexible, and ability to multi-task
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to projects and deadlines
  • Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills
