OS Performance Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled OS Performance Engineer to join our team at Apple. As a key member of our performance team, you will be responsible for analyzing and optimizing the performance of our operating systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze performance of various user experience-focused workloads
  • Collaborate with hardware and software teams to gain a deep understanding of problem domains
  • Evangelize best practices and pursue improvements

Requirements

  • Experience in Systems Engineering, primarily across the Software stack
  • Strong understanding of hardware/software interactions, Operating Systems, Device Drivers, Kernel/Firmware Abstractions
  • Excellent command of C, C++ or Assembly
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent teamwork and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing and using Performance tracing, profiling, logging tools
  • Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience/skills
