Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team at Warriors Mark Wingshooting Lodge and Kennels as a Bird Handler/Grounds Keeper. This is a full-time position that requires a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Care of Facilities
    • Ensure the upkeep and maintenance of our outdoor shooting sports and recreational facility, including grounds, equipment, and structures.
    • Perform routine checks and repairs on mechanical equipment, farm equipment, and machinery.
  • Animal Care and Welfare
    • Provide exceptional care and attention to the animals and birds in our facility, including feeding, cleaning, and maintaining their enclosures.
    • Ensure the health and well-being of all animals in our care.
  • Customer Service and Communication
    • Provide excellent customer service to our clients and visitors, ensuring a positive experience at our facility.
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues and management to ensure seamless operations.
  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability
    • Identify and resolve problems in a timely and efficient manner, using sound judgment and critical thinking.
    • Be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment, with changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and animal care activities.
    • Prepare and submit reports as required, ensuring timely and accurate information.
  • Special Events and Preparations
    • Assist in preparing the grounds and facilities for special events, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless execution of events.
  • Reliability and Accountability
    • Be reliable and accountable for your work, meeting deadlines and expectations.
    • Take ownership of your responsibilities, seeking guidance and support when needed.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education or relevant experience an asset.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
    • Physical ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
