Job Summary

Craft Recruiting is seeking a skilled Crane Operator to join our team. As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy equipment to lift and move materials and other objects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate crane to lift and move materials and other objects in accordance with all manufacturer and industry standards.
  • Plan all lifts and take complete charge of all safety pertaining to set up and knockdown, operation of crane and proper use of capacity charts.
  • Perform rigging inspection and daily equipment inspection to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Respond accordingly to both hand and verbal commands from rigger or helpers.
  • Observe the travel of all loads and take appropriate action to avoid injury to personnel or damage to property.
  • Read boom angle and drum rotation indicators to ensure safe operation.
  • Estimate sizes, distances, and quantities, and determine time, costs, resources, or materials needed to perform a work activity.
  • Inspect subordinate's work for compliance with the contract plans and specifications, point out deficiencies and explain and take any corrective action needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or in a related area.
  • Strong working knowledge skills and abilities for position.
  • Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
  • Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools and layout tools as well as measurement tools.
Working Conditions
  • Constantly move about a construction/industrial site, standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouch, and/or crawling.
  • Work in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions.
  • Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required.
  • May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet).
  • Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces.
  • Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment.
  • May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site.
Qualifications
  • NCCER Certified.
  • Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, physical and background check.
