We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Technologist to join our team at CommonSpirit Health Mountain Region. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Assist surgical teams during operative procedures by preparing and maintaining a sterile environment, setting up equipment, and passing instruments to surgeons and nurses as needed.
- Prepare and move patients, sterilize and clean instruments, equipment, and rooms, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Act as an advocate for patients before, during, and after surgery, and provide emotional support and reassurance as needed.
- Scrub on all cases, including general, gynecological, robotic, oral surgery, dental, orthopedic, and other specialties.
- Float to give breaks, provide support, and relieve for shifts as needed, and assist with room turnover and restocking.
- Maintain a sterile field during procedures, pass instruments to surgeons, and anticipate their needs with a surgical conscience that aligns with policy and protocol for excellent, safe, and professional patient care.
- Work with leadership to maintain and update preference cards, and guide new associates in onboarding.
- Ensure smooth surgical processes and provide exceptional patient care.
- Basic computer skills required.
- One year of experience in a surgical setting preferred.
- Experience in a specialty field preferred.
- HS Diploma/GED required.
- Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program required.
- BLS from the American Heart Association required.
- Current registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado.
- Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery (CST) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required.
- Physical Requirements-Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly).
